My favorite time of year is midsummer.
The weather is just right and the sun stays out until 9PM. And that is when I can drive (or bike!) just a few miles down the road to a small stand selling locally grown fruits, veggies, and my favorite: fresh peaches! In my opinion, nothing is better than cooking or baking with fresh, locally grown produce! I strive to be like my older sister, Amy, who has her very own garden filled with tomatoes and basil and zucchini that is longer than my arm!
I know you must be thinking, why am I talking about midsummer during mid-January? Well, I was craving one of my favorite "Life's a Peach" smoothies, that's why! Although I will have to wait a few more months until I can get my fresh peaches, I can still make due with the frozen kind!
make your life as sweet as a peach with this simple smoothie recipe:
what's in it:
1/2 cup frozen sliced peaches
1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
1 cup of milk (I used 1%)
what to do:
I simply added these few ingredients to my NutriBullet, but you could use whatever blender you own! Blend them up until smooth and that's it! Couldn't be easier ;)
Even though I have to wait a few months for my fresh peaches, I am still making the best out of this unusually warm January with my life's a peach smoothie!
